As welcome as the presence of Overwatch 2, it’s a strange new take on Blizzard’s beloved hero-shooter experience. For starters, it’s pretty much the original Overwatch but with a few more bells, whistles and Genji in a hoodie which is just adorable. Many of its PvP modes, maps and features from the original game will be copied on over to the sequel, thus allowing for a crossplay between games in online matches, something which you can imagine was massively challenging for Blizzard to throw resources at.

Hideous demons roaming the land looking to turn your bones into a collection of musical instruments, beasts beyond mortal ken being right bastards as they terrorise entire towns and the mother of all Nephalem is looking to stage a comeback akin to that of Green Day striking oil with American Idiot. Whether you’re down for the darker art style or you get a weird thrill from clicking on colourful enemies until they explode in an orgy of blood and steel, Diablo 4 looks set to scratch that itch and then some.

In case you missed it, Blizzard announced that there’s a sequel for its hit team-based multiplayer FPS coming in the future. Yes, Overwatch is getting a sequel – but it’s a weird sort of half-sequel that’s been curiously communicated. For starters, if you’re playing Overwatch just for the PvP, you won’t even have to buy the new game. The new heroes and the new PvP modes will be playable from the older game – and Overwatch 1 and 2 players will be able to play together.

After a momentous year that saw the release of the Battle for Azeroth expansion, World of WarCraft is still far from finished. A seventh major expansion was announced at BlizzCon 2019, one which will see the lore of the WarCraft saga continue with former Horde Warchief and totes bad person Sylvanas Windrunner unleashing an unstoppable force upon the land: Death.

If there’s one thing that Blizzard is known for, it’s taking their sweet time on cranking out sequels to beloved properties. Or at the very least, I’d instrumental in hunting down rogue StarCraft 2 pros so that they could be humiliated by the machines in their grand arenas that prove their overall superiority.
