That’s the thing with PC gaming and shooters in particular: They’re fast as f***. Mouse and keyboard controls have and always will provide a level of precision that can’t be matched by analogue sticks and face buttons. If Destiny 2 truly wants to capture the PC crowd, it’s going to need to put on its running shoes. Fortunately, it has.

One of my final sessions at E3 gave me the chance to briefly grab Destiny 2’s executive producer David Allen for some one-on-one. I had some questions. Allen had some answers for me. So here they are from our short and sweet session.

Destiny 1 is for all intents and purposes deader than my parent’s love for me on my birthday, as developer Bungie confirmed that it was all going all in for Destiny 2. Might be time to finally delete it from the console. Sob.

Bungie may have had plenty of Destiny 2 available for a lucky few to experience a few weeks ago, but only one of its truly new classes was ready for action: The new Warlock Dawnblade. Half Solar powerhouse and half the best bits of Highlander thanks to an almighty sword attack, the Dawnblade is a new take on the Solar sub-class for the Warlock.

Bungie’s reveal last week promised a world more populated with stories to tell and legends to uncover. Tales which won’t come solely from the campaign itself but rather your actions in the worlds available to explore. Especially if you like to mix things up by tackling some of the new Adventures which flesh out the usual grind of daily bounties.

Every game in Destiny 2 will make use of peer-to-peer connections to connect players. That’s fine for PvE engagements in Destiny 2, but also means that PvP rounds are going to once again favour the host player who runs that match in comparison to the dedicated server setup which gives everyone a fair shot and equal footing in the Crucible. Bungie has a plan to even the playing field for Destiny 2 players using this setup.

Destiny 2 features four new locations to explore: The European Dead Zone, the Vex planetoid Nessus, the Saturnian satellite Titan and the holy land of Io. Here’s what project lead Mark Noseworthy had to say about these new zones when I quizzed him about them at last week’s Destiny 2 reveal.

In Destiny 2 a new threat has emerged from beyond our solar system: Dominus Ghaul, leader of the Red Legion and the force behind the invasion of the Last City that results in every Guardian being cut off from their source of Light connected to the Traveller.
