A Raid may be Destiny at its most Destiniest, but I’ve loved me a good ol-fashioned strike. It’s the middle-ground between the longform structure of a Raid and the more open exploration of the sandbox activities of Destiny. A quick jaunt into an environment fraught with peril and the bullet-spongiest of bosses around. Destiny 2 has a brand new Strike featuring just those elements in the form of the Inverted Spire.

Destiny 2 is changing up its rocket launcher/paper/scissors combo up considerably, as weapons now come in three new flavours: Kinetic, Energy and Power. A new system that gives Guardians brand new ways to tinker with their loadouts.

The setup for Countdown in Destiny 2 is easy enough: Like every other mode on offer the action is restrained to 4v4, respawns are limited and you have only one life to give when said revives are spent. The objective? Activate a charge and defend it for around half a minute or defend said charge and defuse any that have been activated. It’s simple, fast and furious. Which is why Countdown is so much damn fun to play.

This is just speculation for now, but it's also a possibility if Destiny 2 is purchasable via the Blizzard's online store.

FINALLY, DESTINY 2 IS COMING. With a ton of info, as developer Bungie decided to spill the beans on their first proper sequel. Beans which we picked up,to the tune of fifty as today’s hands-on session revealed plenty of information. Here’s the rundown of what I discovered while I wandered if I could kill the YouTuber in front of me and consume his place in the line to play Destiny 2.

Over at the Jet Center today, I managed to sit down and prove that ye gods going from PS4 controller back to a mouse and keyboard is an utterly alien sensation. Beyond that, Destiny 2 plays very much like Destiny does already. But like totes prettier yo.

Titans wore bulky suits of armour that made them the first and last line of defense against the darkness, Hunters stuck to lighter arrangements of heavy-duty fabrics and lightweight protection to give them an agile edge in combat and Warlocks proudly wore their scholarly pursuits upon their immaculate sleeves. To put it short, Guardians were stylin’ and profilin’ across the rings of Saturn and the red sands of Mars. In Destiny 2? That style has evolved even further.

For many players, Destiny 2 is their first taste of Bungie’s space epic. They’re going to be greener than a Fallen with their first blaster cannon. This is the point where Destiny needs to sell itself once again,with an opening level that shows off what makes the game so great: A sense of scale, overwhelming odds and the general badassery of being a Guardian. Destiny 2’s opening level does just that.
