Tess Everiss's role as a merchant in Destiny 2 isn’t changing now that Bungie is in the driver’s seat, but her store is certainly going to be feeling some massive cha-cha-changes come September in the Shadowkeep expansion.
Cosmetic gear won’t exactly be vanishing in Destiny 2 when the Warmind expansion kicks off the third season of the space sandbox. What will be changing however, is the manner in which players can earn some of that vanity gear.
Destiny 2 was a pretty good game at launch, but once players had mowed through its content, just about everything the game had to offer became a little less compelling. Post-game content is weak, the first DLC did nothing to improve the game, and Bungie seems to be repeating mistakes it should already have learned from, while making a bunch of new ones in the process.
Destiny 2 may have plenty of critics divided over certain aspects over the base game, but most players can agree on one thing: Those microtransactions need to be toned down. A major gripe for many a Guardian, players don’t exactly dig the fact that the line between earned loot boxes and those available for purchase happens to be blurrier than one of my favourite Puddle of Mudd tracks from the early 2000s.
Destiny 2 made some big changes to how shaders worked, and fans are naturally unhappy as they throw some shade of their own at Bungie.
I’ve always thought that walking is for chumps…and chumpettes. I know it’s a miracle of biology that I can move one of my legs forward to propel my body in the direction that I’m intending to go in, but it’s so damn slow. Motorcycles though, are awesome. Motorcycles that defy gravity and don’t require a stop at the petrol station and can be teleported into my personal space, are even more awesome. Which is why Sparrows rule in Destiny 2. If you can grab that one is.
Destiny is many game genres, all loosely held together by the superglue of some superb gunplay. It’s equal parts RPG, MMO and obsessive-compulsive shoot ‘n loot, but it’ll be adding another genre to the checklist today when the Sparrow Racing League kicks off.
