Epic Games is investing in beans. Magic beans! Beans shaped like vaguely humanoid creatures nut you really don’t want to see what the anatomy of these organisms looks like! Mediatonic’s Fall Guys took the world by storm last year, providing a perfect respite from everything else going on in the world at the time. A winner had emerged, and along with the best social media account in video games, Fall Guys hasn’t fallen off the map since it arrived initially as a PS Plus freebie.

After almost two years, Nintendo’s first Direct finally landed online. Full of small announcements and surprises, the only thing missing from the show was a reveal date for The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD and an Advance Wars revival. While that lack of news made for a moist night as I cried myself to sleep, the rest of the stream wasn’t too bad!

Xbox fans expecting to see a similar treatment through the Game Pass service were in for a ravishing Rick Rude awakening yesterday. The mild drama kicked off when a comment on the Xbox Instagram account claimed that Fall Guys would be coming to Game Pass. Chatter started circulating, but Fall Guys publisher Devolver Digital quickly pounced on those rumours and tweeted “that's incorrect”. In another tweet, Devolver confirmed that “there are no plans for Fall Guys to come to any form of Gamepass”.

It’s the dawn of a new year but if you’re still feeling nostalgic for the year from hell that was 2020, then Steam has your back. The almighty digital distribution gaming platform has revealed which of its games made the best-seller list and clocked the highest number of hours from people desperate to escape the horrors outside.

Last night had plenty of announcements, and while only a handful of them were whoa-level announcements, combined they still made for one heck of a show.

For the next wardrobe addition though, Fall Guys is looking to a game where the only way to win is to rip and tear your way to victory with a hail of bullets, plasma blasts, and a trusty chainsaw.

Let’s be real though, the stage should be called Only Fans because that kind of cross-promotion is just not something one should pass on.
