Last night’s patch has resulted in a MASSIVE overhaul for Destiny 2, Bungie has revamped and retooled events such as Faction Rallies and the Iron Banner is a now a chaotic arena of Guardians trying out new weapon combos. In a new vidoc, Bungie outlined their plans for the next year of Destiny 2, with a mission to ensure that the game never suffers from a content drought ever again.

In Destiny 2, there’s a ceiling for the acquisition of power. Currently, the only way to surpass it is to dip into the Solstice of Heroes event and assemble the 400-power Resplendent armour, although even this number will be irrelevant once the Forsaken expansion raises the roof on those numbers. It’s the how of this chase that’s getting a significant reset however, as Forsaken will introduce new paths to power.

If there’s one thing that Destiny 2 got right from day one, it was the idea of making its currency a lot less convoluted. Want to upgrade a gun or grab a few mods? A combination of Glimmer and Legendary Shards is all that you needed, resources which were available easily and often enough. While world resources could be used to purchase engrams from other characters in Destiny 2, it’s a system that largely focuses on the big two of its cryptarcho-currency but also a system that’s going to be receiving a substantial change in the massive Destiny 2.0 update on August 28.

I’m currently loving the hell out of the grind to get my Guardian ready for Destiny 2's Forsaken expansion, which has also resulted in me returning to some of the reworked Exotics along the way as I decide to give my trusty Graviton Lance a break from all the salt in the Crucible. And holy balls, has Riskrunner only earned its spot right at the top of my gun charts.
