Fortnite happens to have a very bad habit of outright stealing dance moves. One recent example is 2 Milly’s Milly Rock dance, which you can find in Fortnite as the Swipe It emote. One other recent example? Donald Faison’s glorious moves from the even more glorious TV series Scrubs, stolen straight from the TV screen and repackaged as the Poison dance.

We all know that Epic’s Fortnite is unfathomably popular. While its activity on Twitch is starting to drop a little, the game is still drawing in a ridiculous number of players. One of the problems is that with the game not being on Steam, we don’t quite know how many players that is.

Marvel’s Spider-Man to Dragon Quest 11, Green Day’s ballad of a month-long slumber proved to be entirely incorrect as gamers worldwide stayed awake and burnt the midnight oil so that they could enjoy some new releases. Big games, big names and even bigger financial results defined the month. The biggest surprise though? That Destiny 2 was the most profitable game of the lot.

While PUBG and Fortnite may have cemented Batlle Royale as a mainstream genre, plenty of other challengers have stepped up to the plate to give the genre some new blood. One game that might be a perfect fit? Easily Id Software’s Quake Champions, whose signature take on quick action and gory results would provide a breath of fresh air in the genre. If Id Software were interested, that is.

While a whole range of Overwatch-themed NERF guns are still on the way, the manufacturer of high velocity foam dart shooters is also looking at another franchise that has taken the world by storm. A franchise whose battle royale antics will soon extend from the digital world to the physical realm of a backyard: Fortnite.

Fortnite, the biggest Battle Royale game on the planet right now, didn’t start out that way. For many, that’s all Fortnite is – but fans of the arguably better Save the World co-op campaign remember that the game started out as a PvE co-op shooter with building elements. The mode that started it all was meant to go free-to-play this year, but that’s changed.

While it’s currently one of the biggest games in the world right now, Fortnite is hardly the poster child for esports or competitive gaming. That is something epic is intent on changing though, with the game set to eventually become a large-scale competitive title. That progression begins today, with the introduction of in-game Tournaments. Announced last week, they’re in the game thanks to today’s 6.10 patch.

Epic has inked a deal with Warner Bros to publish and dsitribute a physical, retail version of Fortnite Battle Royale.
