Move over all you tragic, moody superheroes, and take your tortured backstories with you. The DC Extended Universe has a new star. One that is going to save the world and the rest of the DCEU in one go. It's time Wonder Woman shows us what real heroes are made of.

Snyder has exited directing the remainder of Justice League so that he can focus on spending time with his family after the tragically untimely death of 20-year-old daughter Autumn, leaving Avengers director Joss Whedon to finish the massive DC Comics project.

We've literally been waiting decades for the Wonder Woman movie, but if the tons of early critical praise is anything to go by, then this movie has definitely been worth the wait!

Their is a weight of expectation that Wonder Woman could finally be the film that gives the DC Cinematic Universe something positive to talk about. Can the film live up to these expectations? Early press screening buzz suggest it just might.

Wonder Woman should be that film which hits both nails on the head the first time. An all-star cast, setting and a hero who deserves a chance in the shine in a universe that DC Comics and Warner Bros are also heavily banking on. Current box office estimates point towards a fairly decent opening, from anywhere between $65 million on the lowest end of the spectrum through to $115 million at its highest. Which is allpure guesswork at this stage.

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

It's just under a month until Wonder Woman hits our screens, and director Patty Jenkins already knows where she wants to take the sequel.

Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL composed one hell of a theme track for Wonder Woman, a combination of heavy metal and classical orchestral arrangements that revealed just how much of a badass Diana of Themyscira really was. Hell I even have that particular track as my ringtone, it’s just damn magnificent. Just don’t expect to hear it in the Wonder Woman movie next month.
