Distance is a racing game which benefits from conventional arcade mechanics, mixed with a beautiful visual style, ambient yet archaic music, and a vast collection of user-generated content. Where it starts to choke is its repeat play value, and a multiplayer that is only as good as the number of players and maps you have.

For years, fans have wanted a AAA blockbuster Harry Potter game. While EA played around with the series when it was at its prime, they never really capitalised on the rights. That’s not exactly what fans have been asking for though. Given the rich lore, the Harry Potter universe would be ripe for a AAA RPG epic – and it looks like that’s coming

Battlefield has always lived on its multiplayer modes. Introduced in Battlefield 1, Operations was a new mode that attempted to inject a little of the flair of single player narratives within a multiplayer context, with multiple objectives that span across expansive maps. Grand Operations takes that premise, and as its name suggests, makes it bigger.

With The X-Files back on TV, it looks like Mulder and Scully will be back in interactive action soon enough. No dammit, that doesn’t include that mobile game which goes in deep on hidden objects. Don’t mention that one.

One Piece has popped up just about every platform under the sun in the last two decades, from Wonderswan to PlayStation 3. Usually starring you as series protagonist Monkey D. Luffy, the next video game in the One Piece franchise is due out later this year. Here's some fresh gameplay of it, called One Piece: World Seeker.

Licenced games, especially those featuring superheroes, suck. Yes, there are few exceptions like the critically lauded Arkham series, a couple of decent Spider-Man games and Hulk: Ultimate destruction. For every one of those though, there’s about a million quickly-made, licenced cash-grabs.

Ghost of Tsushima has all the right ingredients so far: A studio that knows what it’s doing, an interesting angle and a sandbox that has seldom been explored in this industry. It’s going to be a tortorous wait for Sucker Punch to release this game.
