The threequel to the massively popular Homeworld series is being crowdfunded over on Fig and will be developed by Blackbird Interactive, veterans of the Homeworld series.

After a few weeks of coasting on hotfixes, the first proper Borderlands 3 patch has arrived and is ready to begin fixing some of the issues that have been plaguing players.

Borderlands 3 may have a campaign whose main appeal lies in an ever-increasing power fantasy and chance to respec yoself before you wreck yourself, but Gearbox is looking to add a little variety to the spice of life that is the latest sequel to the OG loot ‘n shooter. Such an event kicks off soon, as the latest Borderlands 3 livestream revealed more details on the upcoming Bloody Harvest event that’ll add some spookiness in October.

Borderlands 3 may be a braindead story of already dead on arrival memes and a cast that is largely forgettable (Save for Tannis, I still love you for being my socially inept spirit animal), but it’s easily the most satisfying power fantasy of the year thanks to its amazingly tuned gunplay and a sophisticated flow of action that picks up the juvenile slack.

There’s a load of fantastic guns in Borderlands 3, ranging from assault rifles which can vomit out low yield nuclear grenades when their bullets make an impact to rocket launchers which spit out flaming skulls of destruction with every pull of the trigger, but finding them requires some proper effort on your part. Or you could just say bugger that and farm an exploit.

Borderlands 3 is out this week, and it’s one of the biggest, most anticipated game releases of the year. From everything we’ve seen before, it looks like…well, it looks like more Borderlands. Nothing revolutionary, but a game filled with nice quality of life enhancements that build on the game and world established in the sublime Borderlands 2.

The game looks gorgeous, the world inside it is probably going to be massive and the size of said game is going to match up with the lofty expectations that fans have for this long in development sequel.
