Geoff Keighley’s baby, the Game Awards, kicks off tonight in the eastern US, at a reasonable 8pm. Unfortunately for those of us in the bottom of Africa, that’s 3 AM on Friday morning, and as an old bloke, there’s just no way I’m staying up or waking up early for that. I’ll be watching whatever happens with that at a reasonable time on Friday morning. With that said, Keighley has said he wants to do something different with the things this year
If this mystery game doesn’t have at least 21 guns in it, then what are we even doing here, folks? The Game Awards, affectionately (by me, and probably me alone) known as “The Keighleys” have often been a platform to unveil some of the biggest new projects in the video game industries. Just like every other award show, The Game …
Last year saw the likes of Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, Far Cry: New Dawn and Mortal Kombat 11. This year? Expect another ten reveals throughout the night when the Game Awards kick off at the ungodliest of hours for anyone who lives on the wrong side of the GMT border.

Cologne, the Big Apple of Europe. Home to amazing architecture, a scenic river that spins me right Rhine baby right Rhine and for one night only, a massive opening ceremony to celebrate the best that video games have to offer. Hosted by Geoff Keighley, tonight’s grand Gamescom 2019 kickoff show is promising to be one for the ages.
Unlike E3’s gauntlet of livestreamed events which play out over several unrelenting days at the ungodliest of hours for anyone East of the ol’ GMT timezone, Gamescom is a more focused affair. This year will see three of the big names in gaming take to the stage with plenty of studios spread between them: Microsoft with their Inside Xbox event, Google will host another direct spot of streaming focused on Stadia and Geoff Keighley will host the Gamescom Opening Night festivities.
Cloud gaming removed hardware barriers, but it replaced them with something less visible and …
A spooky European village. Properly scary castle mania. Vampires. Werewolves! The only thing more frightening, is a glimpse at your empty bank account when it comes to deciding whether or not you can grab Resident Evil Village this month. Capcom's successor to its long-running survival-horror franchise is finally out, and if you've read our review then you know the game is a winner on multiple levels.
