From his turn as a juror in the Trial of the Incredible Hulk to that of an intergalactic butcher of Thor Odinsson’s glorious golden locks, Stan Lee’s cameos became not just the best Easter egg in Hollywood, but a treasured standard for the industry. With his death this week, its the end of an era for the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the godfather of their source material will no longer be around o provide a smile and a chuckle. Well, not immediately anyway.

Stanley Martin Lieber, known to true believers all over the world as Stan Lee, had died. The co-creator of a vast chunk of Marvel’s Silver Age of comics, Stan Lee helped usher in new comic book characters such as Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four and the Incredible Hulk when he worked alongside artists such as Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko in the 1960s.

A film which was never meant to see the light of day, and was only made as a last-ditch effort to retain the film rights to the characters, produced by legendary cheap as chips director Roger Corman. For over two decades, that Fantastic Four movie has never been released...until today.
