Monster Hunter World has become Capcom’s biggest-selling series this generation, and that’s for good reason. The co-op monster-hunting game, released early last year, is a gem, an addictive game that took one of the company’s most hardcore games and managed to make it accessible withouy negatively impacting the experience.

Fans have been a bit puzzled by the on-set pics of the Monster Hunter movie as they showed off Milla Jovovich and her co-stars as modern-day soldiers. However, new details reveal that the adaptation will actually be sticking very close to its high fantasty action RPG roots, complete with giant swords and fancy armour.

South Africa has become a favourite choice of international film productions partially due to tax incentives that encourage the use of local resources. However, changes to this program to align with national black economic empowerment has resulted in apprehension from big international film studios to film here.

There’s a simple gameplay loop to Monster Hunter World. Face off against monsters, defeat them and then use their remains to craft more potent weapons and armour with which to defeat even bigger and bastardier behemoths that roam the land. To get the right gear for the job however, you’re going to need to to be savvy with what you pull from the wilds.
