For the first time in 22 years, it looks like Rob Liefeld is ready to say farewell to the signature comic book creation that defined his career, Youngblood.

Fans hunger to see faces ripped off, opponents beaten bloody with their own limbs and an entire slaughterhouse of finishers that make the Hostel series look like an episode of the Care Bears in comparison. That’s the true identity of Mortal Kombat, and it’s something that the upcoming film knows all too well as the latest cinematic adaptation is looking to rip the big screen a new one and find an R-rating within.

Over on Twitter, Shane Morris posted a story of how one road trip began with a pair of motorcycles and ended with a camper van that had a brick of heroin hidden inside of it. The tale only gets madder from there, as Morris recounts the ballsiest showdown he ever had with a gangbanger, how he scammed that gangster out of cash and managed to get away from a deal that could very easily have ended with him bleeding to death inside of a dingy motel room.

Earlier today we got a first look at Jim Carrey as Dr Robotnik in the live-action adaption of [checks note] Sonic the Hedgehog. For some reason, we’re getting a live movie featuring the beloved character first seen in the 16-bit platforming classic on the Mega Drive/Genesis. And now we have a trailer.

In 2016, it was announced that Hollywood would be tackling Dmitry Glukhovsky’s dark and dystopian Metro 2033 novel – which served as the basis for the game, too. That movie has now been cancelled, because, Glukhovsky says, the film’s producers wanted to “Americanise” it.
