Sony’s PlayStation store seems to be a little broken now, with multiple reports that players are unable to access the store from their consoles. Users are apparently being hit with a non-descript error (E-82027850) when trying to make purchases or change their payment details. Some report not being able to access the store at all.

Marvel’s Spider-Man is a phenomenal game. It’s one of the best super-hero games, and easily the best Spider-Man game ever made. Critical reception for insomniac’s latest has been overwhelming. Our own Darryn loved the game, and how Insomniac managed to capture Spider-Man and Peter Parker’s essence. The web-swinging is also sublime, so it the game just feels right.

Dontnod Entertainment’s Life is Strange found a considerable fan base despite its shortcomings. The drop in quality of Telltale’s work in the field of episodic adventure games left a nice niche for the prior’s hella (ulgh) mysterious millennial journey and cemented the title as a franchise. The studio’s latest work, however, is of a different nature.

Most of what we’ve seen of Spider-Man to date has been set around what seems like largely linear action sequences interspersed with cinematics. That’s what we were treated to at the conference proper, with the introduction of five sixth of a particularly sinister bunch. The bits that we got to play, however, were all part of the open world, with a few missions and side activities scattered about for the intrepid webcrawler to tackle.

Detroit: Become Human manages to dial back Quantic Dream’s usual style of storytelling and instead focus more on the characters and their personal journey resulting in one the most compelling adventure games in recent memory.

Ni No Kuni 2 manages to showcase that even without Studio Ghibli, Level-5 can still create a truly wondrous and magical JRPG. Even though a lot of the new features and strategic elements feel undercut by it’s easy difficulty, this is still a fine example of what the genre has to offer.

It’s beautiful, it’s fun to play and it’s accompanied by some wonderful music, but it’s the way that the narrative of loss and failure, of hope and redemption is inextricably woven into the game that makes it special.

This month’s PlayStation Plus Instant Games collection is probably the finest the service has ever had. Subscribers received two full retail games – that both happen to be shining jewels in the PlayStation 4 library. You can’t really top Bloodborne and Ratchet and Clank, and that offering isn’t being bested this month. Still, it’s not a bad selection of games coming.
