It’s official! Revealed on N7 day and reported two days later because I was firmly in weekend mode, Mass Effect’s original trilogy is finally getting the remaster treatment. As you probably guessed, Mass Effect Legendary Edition will combine the first three games into one solid package that also adds all the single-player DLC that each game came with, and it’ll be out next year on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. And by virtue of backwards compatibility, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

There are still those who are willing to get up at the crack of dusk and boot up their console to find him for you. People who’ll risk digital life and limb to let you know if Xur is selling a treasure or rubbish. I just so happen to be one of those people. Maybe you’re stuck at work and can only log in later tonight. In that case: Where is Xur?

Reviews have begun trickling in for the PlayStation 5, Sony’s first generational leap since the launch of the PS4 in 2013. The general consensus is that there’s some mighty fine hardware under the hood, albeit with some baffling concessions along the way. The overall theme is that the games look great, the machines don’t sound like they’re cosplaying as jet engines, and yes the console is an absolute unit.

There’s a next-gen pissing war to be had, but it’s not going to be about which console has the better graphics this time. We;; not today at least. Instead I’ve got a feeling that we’re headed into F1 territory: Measuring just how much faster the Xbox Series X/S is at loading a game when compared to the PlayStation 5 and vice versa.

The next generation of console gaming officially kicks off next week…and there’s not exactly a lot of hype is there? It’s understandable why though. What Destiny 2: Beyond Light giveth, it also taketh away…eth. The next expansion to Bungie’s loot-shooter arrives next week, bringing with it a new Stasis subclass, a story that’s more content to paint with shades of grey, and two locations to visit: The snow swept plains of Europa and a return to the Cosmodrome. Because Destiny 2 has also become a bit of a bloated sandbox though, you’ll be saying goodbye to several locations in the process: Io, Titan, Mercury, and Mars are being chucked into the Destiny Vault alongside a whole lot of other activities.

Miles Morales: Spider-Man, or as the game will be known outside of the US, Kilometer Morales: Spider-Man, won’t have a shortage of villains when it swings onto PS5 next week. The OG Spider-Man had his hands full with the Sinister Six, escaped prisoners, and the Taskmaster in 2018, but Miles will be facing a threat even worse than Galactus when he gets the munchies after passing through some groovy cosmic nebula: American capitalism.
