Remedy’s Control is a game that centres on unexplainable events, pitting newly appointed Director of the Federal Bureau of Control against pretty damned weird phenomena. It is one of my favourite games of the year, and I’m terribly excited for the game’s impending expansions. I’m now even more tickled, given that it looks like they’ll explore some loose threads merely hinted at in the main game.

The third-person action, while slick and elegant, is perhaps a little pedestrian, but the completely bonkers story and the rewarding sense of exploration and discovery help cement Control as one of Remedy's best games.

When it was revealed that the game effectively plays out like a Metroidvania game, I was sold. As much as the actually gameplay has me hooked, I can’t say I know very much about the game’s narrative. And now, after watching the game’s story trailer, I think I know even less.

Alan Wake may be back in Remedy's hands, but the studio feels that the bar is currently too high for them to work on a sequel right away...or ever.

While there’s still no sequel on the way, the chances are a little higher. In a brief press release, Alan Wake developer Remedy has quietly announced that they’ve gained the publishing rights to Alan Wake from Microsoft.

We’ll probably never get another sequel to Remedy and Microsoft’s brilliant, psychologically-jarring action-adventure Alan Wake. Remedy has moved on to multi-platform games, with the incredible-looking control being published by 505 Games. That doesn’t mean it’s the end for Alan Wake though - just that in future, it won’t be coming as a game
