The Xbox One X is coming later this year, poised to be the most powerful console ever made. Will it help Microsoft decrease the sales gap between Xbox and PlayStation? Probably not.

For two whole months, Nintendo’s Switch stole the top hardware spot in the US. For two months, it was nice to not report that that Sony’s console was the top-selling system in America. Just those two months though, as Nintendo’s Switch has been dethroned by King PlayStation.

It’s E3 time! That’s exciting for gamers because it’s like gamer Christmas – as long as your family Christmases were about looking at things that you can’t have, just like mine were! Now you can have stuff, with PlayStation and Xbox stuff on sale.

Nintendo's Switch continues to sell like proverbial hotcakes, besting the other systems for the second month in a row.

Capcom revealed that the horror game had sold a respectable 3.5 million copies by the end of the company’s fiscal 2016. The company hopes that it’ll manage to sell through 10 million copies eventually.

Emboldened by early success, Nintendo now plans to sell 10 million Switch units in the current financial year.

Nintendo’s Switch really is off to quite a start. Following its launch last month, investors and analysts predicted that the device would sell 2.5 million units by the end of March. Nintendo themselves had their targets sets on a 2 million unit sell-through. It has done a little better than that.

Persona 5 continues what looks like a trend in the resurgence of Japanese games. Not only are games from the land of the rising sun doing well critically and commercially, they’re also winning over legions of new fans.
