That’s not to say that everything else shown off was rubbish, mind, just that the rejiggered look at Aerith and Cloud was undoubtedly the highlight. Its been a hell of a long road for Final Fantasy VII Remake. Originally given to CyberConnect2 to work on, Sony decided to move the production back to one of their internal studios. It’s not just a visual remake either, as this incarnation of Final Fantasy VII looks set to ditch the turn-based system in favour of something more action-packed.

The Sony A6400 is amazing in the fields where it was meant to play second fiddle. As a still photography device, it’s everything you could ask for: Lightweight, durable and quicker than the Flash when it comes to autofocus. But when you need to take some serious video? Several hang-ups, a bafflingly bad bit of design oversight and the lack of true IBIS makes it a more limited piece of hardware.

A little while back, Sony appropriated a Nintendo-esque way of showing the world its upcoming games. When Nintendo stopped doing great big E3 press conferences, they opted to show off their impending wares through pre-made videos in a segment called Nintendo Direct. Sony started doing the same thing, calling it State of Play. And there’s a new State of Play later this week!
