A lot of lessons were learnt during the days of The Division, not the least of which was focused on how to keep players around long after the end credits had rolled. Lessons which are clearly being applied to The Division 2: Electric Boogaloo.

The Division 2 isn't trying to get new players into its established franchise, but it is doubling down on making sure existing players have a reason to continue playing.

Ubisoft kicked things off with a whole bunch of energy during their conference yesteday and didn't let the mood die down for the rest of their show. Here's the best announcements you might have missed!

Ubisoft's The Division 2 will be getting some serious upgrades in the form of 8-player raids and free post-release content for all.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, The Division 2 and Beyond Good and Evil 2 are just some of the games to look forward to. In addition to that, there’s probably going to be the usual Rabbids experience, Just Dance lighting up the Orpheum and maybe an update on Star Link. Factor in The Crew 2, DLC for Far Cry 5 and a few smaller-scale indie games and Ubisoft already has a packed show ahead.

That first foray into New York in The Division will likely see scores of agents leave that city soon, as Ubisoft is pushing forward on a sequel later this year. And this time, there’s going to be a lot more to do after the credits have rolled.

The Division is a whole game, one of the many titles in Ubisoft’s library that emphasises the idea of games as a service. But where titles such as Rainbow Six Siege and For Honor have been designed to last longer than a few years, it looks like The Division is going to recruit a sequel to its ranks when it returns to New York City for another tour of duty.
