The Outer Worlds finally hits Steam at the end of October
Which is great news because more people should really play that game even if they didn’t just suck it up and play it on the Epic Games Store.

There’s a terrific experience to be had in The Outer Worlds, but it’s an adventure that’s done proper justice on any platform but the Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo Switch owners were left out in the cold while everyone raved about Obsidian Entertainment’s great new game, wondering just when they would get their hands on it. Said grabbing of The Outer Worlds would come in 2020 eventually! Or June 5 to be precise, as Obsidian has doubled down and committed to a proper release date for the upcoming port that’ll allow you to visit distant worlds while on the go.
If video games are escapism, then role-playing games are the endpoint of that idea. These are the games that truly do allow us to inhabit the bodies of characters and grow them according to our own whims and desires. Role-playing games also happen to come in a variety of flavours to suit any palette, whether they be meaty mechanical beasts that we can tinker with or more subtle character-driven experiences that task the player with finding a path that suits their specific tastes of engagement. Whether you’re on PC, PS4 or Xbox One, The Outer Worlds is a blast to play. Nintendo Switch owners however? They’ll need to wait a little bit longer but not too long.
There’s no shortage of things to do in Obsidian’s The Outer Worlds, a terrific slice of space-time action with a pulp feel that is crawling with beautiful design. If art makes a game, then The Outer Worlds was built through the hands of thousands of ideas, sketches and moody atmospheric world-building. From something as simple as a can of food to the more deadly weapons that players used, everything in The Outer Worlds has a handcrafted feel to it.

A spooky European village. Properly scary castle mania. Vampires. Werewolves!
