Yuke’s is the name of the studio, and from the sunny shores of Osaka in Japan they’ve been pumping out WWE games at a steady clip that dates back to the early days of when THQ handled the license and through to the modern era that is currently under the stewardship of 2K Games. Well they were, until this week when the studio announced that they’d been future endeavoured.

This year's WWE 2K20 will see a showcase of the Women's Evolution, a Roman Reigns story mode tower, the return of a personal career journey and much much more. OH MY!

And by gameplay trailer, I mean seven seconds of actual gameplay within a 50-second teaser that features Becky Lynch being the man while mingling with WWE legends and current superstars at a fancy-pants soiree that she has literally crashed. Finally, there’s some confirmation of WWE 2K20 being real, thanks to an announcement of an upcoming announcement and no I’m not making this up. 2K dropped an entire TWO new screenshots for the upcoming wrestlefest, which may be about as surprising as a Big Show Heel/Face turn.
