SA’s Weekend Top 10 (20 to 22 Feb)
Is this the week? Has Tak3n finally left the building? Nope, not yet. But at least the box office of 2015 is starting to look interesting. Last Updated: February 25, 2015
THE LEGO MOVIE SEQUEL finds a director
It may have been snubbed at the Oscars, but there’s no getting around the fact that Chris Lord and Phil Miller directed one of the best animated movies in ages. The Lego Movie was a huge success, paving the way for an inevitable sequel, that won’t feature Miller and Lord behind the camera directing again. Instead, that job will go …
This trailer for OUT OF THE DARK will make you nervous
If, like me, you enjoy horror movies then this new flick from the producers of The Crazies may be just what you are looking for. That being said I am so tired of horror movies deteriorating into absolute nonsense halfway through that I have a natural resistance to getting excited for this genre. The trailer for Out of the Dark starts off promising but …
SUPERGIRL TV series looking for its Superman; Calista Flockhart joins cast in major role
Just the other day I was having a discussion with a friend about CBS’ upcoming TV series adaptation of Supergirl, and how I couldn’t figure out how they could stay true to the character’s origins – which the pilot synopsis appears to hint at – and not actually feature Superman himself. I mean, that would be like making a Catwoman …
Midweek Movie Mouth-Off: what did you think of the Academy Awards?
Well, don’t ever trust me to predict who is going to win an Oscar! To be fair, half of my predictions were who I would like to see win (that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it!). At least you know, once again, that you can trust Kervyn’s opinions, seeing as his predictions were (pretty much) spot on. So Birdman …
Watch Katee Sackhoff and James Van Der Beek kick ass in this deboot of POWER/RANGERS!
The idea of Bootleg movies may be new (Punisher: Dirty Laundry and Judge Dredd: Superfiend), but I hope the idea picks up some more steam. Lionsgate has a brand new Power Rangers movie on the way, that will hopefully be filled with over-enthusiastic hand gestures and gigantic Zords that look like the bastard love-children of Pacific Rim’s Jaegers and Kaiju. …
Here's the new poster for AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON; Joss Whedon talks JAMES BOND and GODFATHER II influences
Avengers: Age of Ultron is undoubtedly one of the biggest movies of the year, and right now there’s practically nothing that can blunt my excitement for it. Not even this new official poster for the film which shows the entire team assembled together while a sky full of Ultrons bear down on them. It’s also crap. The design is uninspired …
