COD5 Day One Advantage is not so bad

By Gavin Mannion
September 18, 2008

So yesterday Nick posted about the rumoured “Day One Advantage” which will allow people who pre-order the game to rank up quicker in the game. However this seems to have just been another case of Internet broken telephone. There will be a “Day One Advantage” if you pre-order COD5 from Gamespot, but this advantage is simply one of the higher …

I have a feeling Google are trying to take over the world. They are the king of all the search engines and they now too have their own internet browser, Google Chrome. Now they are going for one of the most successful content distribution systems in the world, Steam. Last Updated: September 17, 2008

Now this is a cool concept if you own a PS3, maybe not so much if you own an Xbox 360. In Guitar Hero World Tour you are going to be able to import MIDI tracks from your PC into the game and play with them. Last Updated: September 17, 2008

Activision Are Seeing Dollar Signs

By BrettC

Over the last week EA have been taking a lot of flack from me. But now somebody else gets to step into the limelight, Activision. Earlier today Nick posted about the “Day One Advantage” scheme that Activision are going to include as a feature in COD 5, a stupid idea to say the least. The greed doesn’t end there though; …

Xbox 360 takes Japan – this is not a drill

The loons may all be right, the world may in fact be ending. We posted a few weeks back that the Xbox 360 outsold the PS3 in Japan and then ran out of stock. The worldwide belief was that the Japanese had finally found a game they liked and it was just going to be a blip on the radar. …

GTA IV DLC still on track for Spring

By Nick De Bruyne

As if the entire world was holding it's breath in anticipation of the news, Microsoft has now officially confirmed that the GTA IV DLC will be releasing in Autumn (Spring here in SA) and will then obviously be ready before Christmas. Microsoft are also happy to boast that the DLC is exclusive to the Xbox 360, just in case any PS3 owners missed it the first time around. Details of the DLC have still not been released and even though Rockstar doesn't have a habit of disappointing us, GTA IV's popularity has died down quite a bit as of late so the DLC will be a great way to get people to put their discs back in. Whether or not those same people are interested enough to jump back into the world of GTA one more time is another story. On a side note, I'm entirely convinced that this DLC will remain an Xbox 306 exclusive, so watch out for announcements about PS3 DLC shortly after. It may never come, but we can only hope. We will post more details when they become available.

Holy crap this trailer makes LittleBigPlanet look like nothing but ten heaps of fun. With its release coming closer and closer a lot of excitement is building up and with awesome trailers like this I can see this game selling a ton of units. Fun seems to be the name of the game here and LBP looks like it's actually going to deliver on all fronts.

Incredible Custom Controllers

By Nick De Bruyne

What happens when gamers get bored? They get busy (or just up to trouble). The guys featured here have take controller modding to the next level by constructing the most absurd, strange and weirdly wonderful contraptions ever seen by our controller-wielding generation. I have absolutely no idea why some people go to these lengths to create such amazingly weird devices, but hey, who am I to judge. I am happy that some guy built up a one handed controller, because goodness knows that as gamers we all have nightmares that something terrible should befall one of our hands and we would be left spending the rest of our days merely watching other people have all the fun. Kudos to that guy. The list is quite long and includes a lot of images so as much as I would like to bring all of it over, I have opted to redirect you to the original page instead. Check it out by clicking here.
