Bioware has officially confirmed that Sarah Schachner has joined the team as the composer for Anthem. Schachner is no stranger to video game soundtracks, having an impressive number of soundtracks on her belt already, with a significant chunk of her work being found in the Assassin’s Creed universe across games such as Black Flag, Unity and Origins.

BioWare General Manager Casey Hudosn says that the cries for more entries in the Dragon Age, Mass Effect and Old Republic universes aren't falling on deaf ears, and that the studio is cooking up something in the more traditional RPG space.

Anthem might not have had the best showing on EA's own stage at E3, but the demo that attendees got to play was completely different. Check out the full 20-minute demo right here.

It takes time to gather the right people, resources and idea to craft something special. In the case of Bioware and Anthem, that co-operative action RPG has been a six-year journey that began shortly after Mass Effect 3 was finished.

While Anthem actually hews closer to Lost Planet and Iron Man in its construction, its story still has that Destiny influence, focusing on mystery and exploration to flesh out its narrative. A narrative that players will find more concrete answers to, the deeper they go.

“Well that looks a lot like Destiny.” Pretty much anyone seeing Anthem’s gameplay has said something along those lines. And really, they’re not wrong. Anthem smacks of ideas that are undeniably similar to Bungie’s sandbox-shooter.
