This year, Zombies is on of the main pillars of Call of Duty Black Ops 4, which ditches the traditional single player campaign to instead focus on traditional multiplayer, Battle Royale and the Zombies mode.

Black Ops 4 is coming later this year (We’re all done with that IIII stuff, right?), but before the game is out we’re getting a multiplayer beta. Actually, we’re getting two! The much-anticipated Battle Royale Mode Blackout will be getting its own private beta a little later.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 feels like a familair shooter from a time where the franchise wasn't overly complex, despite featuring some big changes to its core speed and gunplay.

Despite reports stating the contrary, Black Ops IIII never had a traditional campaign that was eventually cut out. Instead, Treyarch never had one to start with.

For the first time ever, Call of Duty is skipping its bombastic weekend mode campaign, as developer Treyarch focuses all of its attention on its other gameplay options such as solo stories starring the multiplayer specialists.

Revealed last night at the Black Ops IIII event in sunny Los Angeles, developer Treyarch’s take on the battle royale mode is called Blackout. All the action that you’d expect of Call of Duty, spread across a wide map, characters and plenty of weapons. Well, minus the massive player count, because Treyarch is undecided yet on just how many players it’ll allow into any given session of Blackout.

Of course Call of Duty: Zombies is back. Originally a hidden bonus mode, it’s become a fan favourite for players who love a cooperative take on Call of Duty. This year, it’s a brand-new storyline for zombies that draws from history both real and mythological.
