I like to think that Destiny’s Crucible is the perfect fusion of two core aspects of gamer culture: The need to digitally shoot someone in the face and vanity. If you’re going to die on some faraway planet, then you’re going to want to leave a good-looking corpse, amirite?

Destiny 2 launches on September 6, and it's promising a whole new world to explore and shoot stuff up in. Here's everything that we know so far about Bungie's grand sequel.

If you were getting a tad bit miffed that the Destiny 2 beta had your Guardian recharging his super ability slower than a smartphone connected to a dodgy USB-C cable, then fret not: Your ultimate ability to hurl devastating blades of solar energy and Leeroy Jenkins your way into a melee with a Arc-charged shield is going to be sped up.

Good news then fellas, because your chance is coming up. Bungie’s weekly update blog post confirmed that Destiny 2 will hit the beta scene on your chosen platform on August 28 for Early Access and then August 29 for everyone else. It’ll end on August 31, with Bungie recommending that your PC have a light level of this much to enjoy it without limits.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Few games could match the mania for guns that Destiny had. Dodgy story issues and inconsistent updates aside, Destiny’s guns were in a class of their own.

Strikes and Raids may form the spine of the endgame content in Destiny 2, but the worlds around you need to be more than just funnels for daily bounty grinds. That’s where new public events, Lost Sectors and Adventures come into play.
