There’s a good reason to hunt down llamas within Fortnite Battle Royale, as these cuddly critters don’t just have great gear. They’ve got the right gear at the right time when you activate them. Also, tons of building materials.

I have sipped deeply from the cup of Fortnite Battle Royal and I like what I’m tasting. Said cup has a new flavour to sample this week, as developer Epic Games have introduced a new limited time event: Blitz mode.

Fortnite Battle Royale in its present state is a lean mean killing machine, but that doesn’t mean that its formula can’t be improved. Update V.3.3 is aiming to do that, with a meaty new patch.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is the current champ of the genre, while Epic’s Fortnite is a scrappy contender that might soon dominate a scene that already has plenty of challengers waiting for a title shot. The biggest contender however? None other than the daddy of Call of Duty, Activision. Possibly, I mean.

Fortnite Battle Royale already plays like a dream, it’ll be tweaking itself even further with the upcoming V3.3 update that’ll add new loot and kill off the perennially unpopular smoke grenades that players just don’t seem interested in ever using. Also there'll be llamas.

Fortnite: Battle Royale has its eyes on more than just the usual trinity of platforms, as developer Epic Games have announced that they’ll be porting their full 100-player experience to iOS and Android mobile devices. Presumably with some kind of sorcery.

Fortnite's new mode is called Teams of 20, and as its name suggests, it’ll open the island to five teams of twenty players each. It’s somewhere between one of the previous timed events that saw 50v50, and the usual squad mode of 4 players on each team.
