By Gavin Mannion

The rumours are in and apprently we can expect to see a Xbox 360 price cut in Japan in the coming week as well. We are still expecting the US prices to be slashed and the Arcade to reach the magical $199 figure this week over there, well the Japanese price cut is beating that and dropping the price of …

Mercenaries 2 Reviews Coming In… Not Great

By Gavin Mannion

Either my jinxing powers are super powerful or I just like games that are not great. My latest expectation, Mercenaries 2, has received it’s IGN review (first review?) and while there are some good points being said about the game the problems are also unmistakable. Mind you a 7.9 is far from being a bad score but getting a 5 …

Matt Peckham over at PC World has put together a chart showing us the ‘real’ price difference between the PS3 and the various Xbox 360 models before and after the upcoming American price cut. The 360 is cheaper as a unit but if you want to ‘upgrade’ it to the capabilities of the PS3 then it becomes a lot more …

Normally when a game breaks the million barrier you can pretty much bet the house that you are going to see a sequel to it. However this time it may not be that simple. Yes Ninja Gaiden 2 has just sliced through the millionth customer worldwide but with their fearless leader, Itagaki, now in court with Tecmo things are not …

Joystiq has posted a chart showing how very few people are signed into the E for All expo this year and how PAX seems to have stolen virtually all of their previous attendees. Basically the only companies who have confirmed their E for All appearance are Microsoft and EA Games, two of the guys who can afford to attend every …

Castle Crashers Experiencing Online Issues

By Nick De Bruyne

As reported yesterday, the long awaited beat-em-up, Castle Crashers, was finally released for Xbox Live Arcade. While the games is enjoying a very positive reception it seems that there are issues with online play being experienced worldwide. We managed to get our hands on the game yesterday to give it a bash and it is proving to be a heck of a lot of fun. The only issue comes in when trying to play online. The game seems to be suffering from issues that cause the game to begin lagging and then ultimately drop completely. At first we thought it was down to an issue on our side (more specifically my side) but we eventually went onto the internet to see if the rest of the world was having issues as well. On the TeamXbox forums, I managed to find an official Castle Crashers thread that had many a member complaining about issues with games dropping and freezing. In other local tests some of the SA guys managed to play with 2 - 3 people for long periods of time but none have yet been successful when a 4th was added. Other games just died out after mere minutes. I have checked the official Castle Crashers website but at the moment they are experiencing issues with their server being flooded so I can't check to see if they have officially recognised the issue. With complaints arising worldwide I am sure that it is only a matter of time until the problem is sorted out with a patch but till then, be warned. If you are specifically downloading the game for online play then you might be disappointed when the games keep dropping so I suggest that you hang back and wait for a patch. Either that or you could go buy some beers and extra controllers and invite some friends over for an evening of mayhem. That's the way that we did it back in the olden days, remember?
