With the Vex Invasion now defeated, Osiris calls upon you to face a new threat. Stop a council of Cabal Psion Flayers from manipulating time and undoing our victory against the Red Legion.

Destiny 2's Curse of Osiris was flashy, ambitious and ultimately shallow in its execution which resulted in the first substantial stab at expansive content for Bungie's sandbox being a complete letdown. It did have something extra to it though, if you were prepared to toil away for weeks: Lost Prophecy weapons.

Here’s everything we learnt from last night’s livestream on Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris as new details on the upcoming expansion were further revealed.

You’ve conquered the Red Legion, ended the Red War and engaged in some regicide in the Leviathan raid of Destiny 2. What’s next? After weeks of teasing, Bungie’s first full-fledged for Destiny 2 was shown off at Paris Games Week. The titular Curse of Osiris finally brings the infamous renegade Guardian into the light, as players need to fight back against an all-new Vex threat on Mercury.

Whatever you think of Destiny 2, one word rings true as an apt descriptor for it’s content: Substantial. Having clearly learnt a lesson from Destiny 1, Destiny 2 always feels busy. There’s a constant grind, albeit an enjoyable one in which players are earning new gear across a wide variety of activities inside of the sequel. Said activities will most likely increase even further, once Destiny 2’s first slice of DLC pops up.

Like most things in Destiny, there was a story attached to Osiris. Lore detailing a wizard from the Last City who found himself exiled to Mercury and harboured a heck of a grudge to the Speaker. A story which could finally be expanded on in Destiny 2’s first expansion. That’s according to Kotaku’s sources, who say that the DLC will ship three months after Destiny 2 arrives on September 6.

Destiny 2’S reveal came with news that an expansion pass would also be available after its September launch. Which was all that Bungie was going to say. What, you wanted details? You’re going to have to wait for the week before E3 for them to be leaked buddy. Or, you could take a closer look at the clues hidden right there in front of your gorgeous face.

Steam's next big hit might have just entered Early Access, as Osiris: New dawn looks to be scratching all the right itches. Could it offer what No Man's Sky was supposed to?
