I’m excited, I’m revving to go and I’m more than willing to endure a literal 24 hours worth of air travel just to get to E3 this year. Why? Because some of the finest games in the land will be on show there. Games that will define the greatest interactive medium ever made, push them in new directions ad just be a bloody hoot to play. Here’s a list of ten such games, that the Critical Hit massive is eager to experience.

Avalanche Studios, the company that makes the Just Cause games, did Mad Max and is helping Bethesda with the impending Rage 2, has been acquired by Nordic film distribution company Nordisk Films.

Bethesda has tapped Just Cause studio Avalanche that is handling development duties on RAGE 2, and they’re bringing their own internal engine to the party.

RAGE 2 might just be the most unlikeliest resurrection of 2018. After all, the original game was an open-world post-apocalypse shooter with heavy emphasis on driving around a world gone mad. Elements that developer Avalanche can perfectly slot itself into.

RAGE 2 ain’t Id Software’s baby sequel. Instead, it’s Mad Max developer Avalanche that’s in charge of this project and that’s news that makes me damn happy.

RAGE was alright then, but it looked like it’d be a done-in-one game by the time the end credits rolled. Or maybe not, because RAGE 2 is looking very legit today thanks to a leaked trailer ahead of today’s official announcement. Quick, watch it before it’s gone.

Remember Rage? Id Software’s open-world shooter that looked great at the time and played alright? A few years later, and I actually wouldn’t mind an HD remaster of that oddball game. Or hell, even a return. I’m starting to think that Bethesda might actually be ready to book a new trip to that wasteland.
