My Hero One’s Justice may be a faithful and stylish adaptation of the hit anime series, but all the fancy graphics in the world can’t do justice to a game whose kryptonite is a severe lack of real substance.

Spyro's three adventures have aged gracefully in this stunning remake of Insomniac Games' PlayStation 1 trilogy, with only missed opputunties and strange audio issues marring a delightfully nostalgic trip back in time.

Tetris Effect treats the classic puzzle game with the utmost respect, giving it a modern spalsh of visual flair and intoxicatingly good music to make it the best way to play Tetris yet.

In the end, it’s a deeply disappointing game, because those opening hours showed such promise. If developer Cyanide had just stuck to the bits that work – the investigation – we’d have ended up with a better game. Instead of descending into madness, it descends into tedium.

The Recon 200 looks and sounds better than you’d expect for its price. The fact that you have to plug in and charge a wired headset may be off-putting to some, but it’s a worthwhile trade-off for the thumping audio. Distance is a racing game which benefits from conventional arcade mechanics, mixed with a beautiful visual style, ambient yet archaic music, and a vast collection of user-generated content. Where it starts to choke is its repeat play value, and a multiplayer that is only as good as the number of players and maps you have.

Dark Souls on the Nintendo Switch is a really good port, and sure there were definite compromises made but it runs really well on the console and is still the same experience we all know and love; only now you can play it wherever you go. I’m really glad it turned out this well because it managed to make me fall in love with this game all over again.
