Red Dead Redemption 2 has been a massive critical success, and it's becoming an even bigger sales one for Rockstar already after less than two weeks on store shelves.

Of course Red Dead Redemption 2 was going to be successful (despite all of the stories about its human cost). The eagerly anticipated sequel to one of the last generation’s best games was always going to make a heck of a lot of money – but nobody expected it to have the best opening weekend of any product in the history of media entertainment.

I liked Assassin’s Creed Odyssey a lot, even though there’s very little Assassin’s Creed to it. It’d becoming more and more of an RPG, which has many fans wondering if it would be better that the series splits off into two. I’m completely happy with the direction the series is going, and the more fantastical fun injected into the game (along with the historical setting), the better. Consumers, it seems, agree.

2018 started with a bang thanks to Monster Hunter World, a new Mega Man was announced and E3’s best announcement this year was the return of Nero and Dante in Devil May Cry 5. There’s a common thread in Capcom’s upcoming releases, one that when pulled reveals a newfound focus on emphasising the core strengths of Capcom’s franchises and pursuing those genres with a single-minded determination.

With publishers such as Aftershock, Valiant and Image Comics giving the big two a run for their money with online offerings, people are now more than willing to grab some graphic fiction via a quick download.
