If Stan Lee was an influence on the hearts and minds of many of the people who would go on to redefine entertainment, then he was the kind of inspiration that almost no one could speak ill of after he had died. Almost no one.
From his turn as a juror in the Trial of the Incredible Hulk to that of an intergalactic butcher of Thor Odinsson’s glorious golden locks, Stan Lee’s cameos became not just the best Easter egg in Hollywood, but a treasured standard for the industry. With his death this week, its the end of an era for the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the godfather of their source material will no longer be around o provide a smile and a chuckle. Well, not immediately anyway.
With his passing, Stan Lee’s own story may be over but the legend he created will live on forever as the comic book industry paid their respects to a man who was a mentor, an inspiration and most importantly, a friend.
