You ever hear about Kamen Rider then? You ever hear of a long-running Japanese live-action franchise that features a mysterious biker battling armies of insectoid monsters? Trust me, it’s awesome and has been since its debut way waaaaaaaay back in 1971.

While my terrible fantasies are likely to never come true unless I’m finally elected into office (On the platform of making teenagers serve a mandatory tour of duty in the food service industry so that they can learn true suffering), I will at least be able to live out a few vehicular carnage dreams in Auto Age: Standoff. Here’s a trailer for it.

After three seasons of tying up loose ends, planting the seeds of a Rebellion and offering a few Easter eggs to fans of trilogies both old and new, it looks like the crew of the Ghost is ready to take one final jump from Lothal and into legend. I could blather on a bit more, but honestly? This trailer for the final season of Star Wars Rebels needs to be watched pronto.

Destiny 2 – New live-action trailer, engram drop details and pre-load times revealed

By Darryn Bonthuys

Confused about the plot of Destiny 2? It’s not that hard to really understand the setup: Everything you know and loved is dead. Even puppies, and it’s time to punch Dominus Ghaul right in his stupid face with as many bullets as possible. That’s the note that the latest live-action trailer for Destiny 2 starts off with, which is surprisingly funnier than you’d expect it to be as Bungie’s sequel cycles in what has become a Hollywood staple for live-action trailers: A catchy song from yesteryear with some expensive visual effects.

If you’re a nameless henchman who happens to stumble into the path of a certain emoji-faced killer in RUINER, then yes. Things can and definitely will get much worse for you. I’ve been following RUINER since I first glimpsed it at the gloriously gory Devolver Digital press conference from E3, and as the official president of all things twin-stick shootery I’ve liked what I’ve seen so far. Here’s the latest trailer of RUINER in action, as well as a few new screens to tide you over until it releases next month.

Gamescom 2017 – Age of Empires IV announced

By Darryn Bonthuys

I’ve got many a fond memory of Age of Empires, a series of real-time strategy games from Microsoft that were pitch-perfect in their balance of exploration and conquest. While Age of Empires II was the highlight for me, I never quite got into its third instalment. It was a fine game, but something just felt…off. Maybe it was the dramatic shift to 3D visuals in an age where such graphics were still in their infancy in that genre, or maybe it was the odd resource-gathering system. Perhaps the fourth time is the charm then, as Microsoft unveiled Age of Empires IV last night.

Destiny 2’s PVP is looking pretty competitive in this new trailer

By Darryn Bonthuys

I like to think that Destiny’s Crucible is the perfect fusion of two core aspects of gamer culture: The need to digitally shoot someone in the face and vanity. If you’re going to die on some faraway planet, then you’re going to want to leave a good-looking corpse, amirite?
