Things have been pretty quiet on the Division 2 front. The second game in Ubisoft and Massive’s open world action RPG didn’t quite have the impact the first game did. Much of its import was robbed by a weak end-game and unnecessarily punishing raid that sapped player confidence, leading many to move on to other things. Yesterday, Ubisoft promised that something big was coming to The Division 2, for a reveal later this evening.
Ubisoft is the AAA game studio in the industry today due to their entire business model being based on massive live service sandboxes. With more hits than misses in their arsenal, the company always has something cooking away in one of its many kitchens and after a bit of a quiet period in the latter half of 2019, they’ve got some big plans for 2020 and beyond.
The limited time event will see players attempting to quell the rise of killer robots and cyborgs while earning exclusive in-game loot.
