Is the Watch Dogs franchise dead? Maybe, or maybe it’s merely resting as it bides its time and prepares for a new life on new consoles. That’s the rumour floating around currently as Skullzi TV dug up a trademark listing from Ubisoft for Watch Dogs 3 from the tail end of 2018.

The original Division was a third-person adventure with a mix of cover, stats and good ol’ role-playing elements for extra points, there was a lot to emotionally invest in when it came to constructing how your character operated within New York City and its Dark Zones. A few years later and we’re at the doors of sequel territory, with The Division 2 featuring more subtle changes to its formula while still retaining the feel and handling of the original.

There’s a certain charm to Trials and how it manages to make one victory worth a thousand failures, with each game from RedLynx generally being fun, lengthy and imaginative. While there’s plenty to do and create in Trials Rising this month, the studio is planning to launch plenty of extra content after release…for a price of course.

For whatever reason, Assassin’s Creed III has been remastered. It was a divisive game for many, and I was one of the people who really didn’t like it very much when compared to its predecessors, and doubly so when compared the game that came after, Black Flag. Assassin’s creed III just tried to do too much, I think, becoming a hodgepodge of tangentially-related ideas that didn’t quite coalesce into a great game.

Ubisoft would be the first to agree that the ‘live’ strategy for The Division was sorely lacking in 2016. While End Game content was a reactionary process (albeit rapidly resolved) for The Division, this 2019 follow-up has post level-cap intrigue as a wholly integrated raison d'être.

Ubisoft sent a mailer out with the subject line: "Come see what a real government shutdown looks like in the private beta." Woops!

The Division 2 happens to be out in March, but if you were looking for a headstart, then February has you covered with a private beta. Again, that’s not the name and rank of a soldier. So what’s on the menu for that slice of cover-based RPG madness? According to Ubisoft, a lot.
