Uncharted 2 currently in developement

By Nick De Bruyne

Uncharted1.jpg With the great success of Drake's Fortune, it is honestly a no-brainer that a sequel would be made. Play3-Live.com reports that the in the latest issue of PSM3 Magazine, Naughty Dog's Christophe Ballestra has confirmed that Uncharted 2 is currently in development. The news comes from a site that had to be translated to english using googles translation tools, so the details are a little difficult to figure out. Check this out: "It also will train with Heavy Rain, DC Universe Online and Killzone 2, a new wave of major titles of the PS3. Just like Resistance 2, it could reveal early next year." From the looks of things, it looks as if the game will be officially announced early next year so we can all look forward to some more good news soon. So, who thinks that it will still be exclusively made for the Playstation 3?

Xbox Live is still broken

By Gavin Mannion

It appears that the new software update for Xbox Live has made it incredibly unstable… you would think that they would have tested this a little more thoroughly before installing it. Live was down for slightly longer than planned yesterday and at this time of writing it is still bouncing around like an inebriated bunny. Hopefully by the time you …

Another one bites the dust

Yet another upcoming title has been shot, kicked and dragged off to the trash pile. EA has confirmed that the upcoming squad based shooter "Tiberium", has been officially been canned, complete with a whole bunch of folks getting fired. Tiberium, as most of you will know was based in the Command & Conquer universe that dealt with a futuristic war over the tiberium crystal resource. According to EA, the game was not living up to the quality standards that they have come to expect from their development studios. EA had the following to say: "EA has suspended work on Tiberium effective immediately," "The game was not on track to meet the high quality standards set by the team and by the EA Games Label. A lower quality game is not in the best interest of the consumers and would not succeed in this market." Stories like this are making me realise that as the games industry grows, the demand for high quality titles is getting a lot more serious. It is nearly safe to say that from now on, even though a new title may be announced, there is always the chance that it may not see the light of day. While it is sad to hear that a potentially good game was killed, I have to say that I am glad that EA are upping their quality control and trashing low-quality games as opposed to just releasing crap to cash in on a well known brand. Developers better up their game, or they may be finding themselves out of jobs.

Xbox 360 sales up over 200%

I find it difficult to believe any consoles sales figures that start with the following statement “[Console Manufacturer] has announced” but in this case they are being backed up by a third party company (Chart Track) so I am guessing it’s safe… Anyway Microsoft has announced that sales of the 360 in the UK have increased by 214% over the …

New Alan Wake Trailer coming?

I was just getting used to the idea that Alan Wake wasn’t going to be making it to a console anytime soon and now this news crops up. “We can truly say with pride (and quite in flames!), That two years of silence, after Remedy intends to present the Alan Wake-game trailer for the new format” … say what? You …

Earlier this month Nick reported on a Gamestop ex-employee that decided that he had had enough of the internal politics and non-transparency of what really goes on behind the scenes at Gamestop. The ex-Gamestop employee know as “whistleblowerzero” created  a series of videos in the same style as the Yahtzee Zero Punctuation reviews to expose the retailer and the terrible …

I’m sure you’re tired of waiting for a Little Big Planet beta key giveaway that you are actually around to take advantage of, but spending upwards of $60 on eBay probably isn’t the brightest alternative. Still, that’s exactly what many gamers are resorting to. I’ve even read horror stories of people being suckered into paying shipping and handling for the …

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts 'Locales' trailer HD Viva Piñata and Viva Piñata – Trouble in Paradise are awesome games , but Rare are really set to out-do themselves with Banjo, this game is looking fantastic and varied. This trailer does a lot to quell fears that there would not be much platforming involved and honestly seals the deal for me. …
