By Gavin Mannion

Bioshock 'PS3/Xbox 360 Comparison' HD Bioshock was released to universal acclaim last year on the Xbox 360, after which is was ported over to the PC and offered a more improved graphical display on that platform. Now it’s the PS3’s turn to show us it’s Daddy and the big question is whether or not the extra space of Blu-Ray or …

Its the next big thing to happen to the ps3 and according to Media Molecule’s Alex Evans it’s an exclusive for a reason. Its not that it can’t be made for the 360 at all, its just that the ps3 offered more to use than the 360. There were two main factors that meant LBP could not be made for …

It was a bit of an anti climax when the 2.40/2.41 patch arrived, everybody updated and were now able to get trophies but the only game that supported trophies was SSHD. Well the released games are now gradually getting trophy support with EA being the newest company to jump on the bandwagon with Battlefield: Bad Company trophies. Last Updated: September …

Fallout 3 Changed to "Avoid Confusion"

I am going to try and be as neutral as I possibly can here but I do have this burning urge to rant about Australia and their silly game laws. They have their laws on games and up to now, most game developers have been perfectly happy to just ship them censored games and give the everybody else the game …

Pacman: The Movie – Watch out Prince of Persia

By Nick De Bruyne

Jake Gyllenhall and Mark Wahlberg better watch out because there is another huge adaptation thats rocking the world. Not quite an action movie, Pacman: The Movie is more of a Horror/Drama that takes a fresh outlook on the story by allowing us to view it from the eyes of the ghosts and not from yellow mouth yapper this time around. Now don't let the big studios know, but we have the entire movie (although quite short) available right here for you to watch and enjoy. Shhhhhhh. The Gears of War movie has now had a lot of added pressure put on it. They better not slack off because this has just raised the bar significantly.

SOS: South African Internet Needs Help!

By Nick De Bruyne
September 10, 2008

Americans are up in arms because a US company called Comcast has started capping their internet services. The poor US internet users (residential only I might add) are going to really suffer because they have been restricted to a measly 250GB per month.... Now I can understand why the internet users are upset as no one likes having anything taken away but this really makes me think about how scary things actually are in South Africa compared to the rest of the world.... I really think that the world needs to know how much we pay and how little we get. I have gone to a US ISP website to check their pricing and then looked at the pricing here in South Africa just to get a good look at the differences between the two. (Comcast requires an address to get pricing and for the life of me I couldn't get it to work) You simply won't believe the numbers when you see them. Firstly, I am going to take a look at a decent "hardcore" internet package from Telkom together with Webafrica: Telkom 4Mbps ADSL line including rental (Not including any setup fees or modem + Webafrica 10GB Shaped Account: = R1050.88 Now for the US, I have taken these details straight from the AT&T website: Downstream Speed: Up to 6.0 Mbps Upstream Speed: Up to 768 Kbps IP Address: 1 Dynamic Double Your Cash Back – Order online and get $100 Cash Back!* Get Elite for $35.00 per month with the price guaranteed for 2 years—no contract required!* Plus, receive a FREE AT&T Wireless Gateway (wireless router with built-in modem—a $79.99 value) or a FREE Modem (a $49.99 value) after rebate. Online offer only.* Also, enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi access at over 17,000 hot spots, including U.S. company-operated Starbucks locations equipped with a hot spot.* So then, 6mbps line, uncapped, unshaped free modem and hotspot connectivity, wanna guess how much it works out to? $35.00 per month (R276.00) As I work out these figures I find it incredibly difficult to believe what we are paying and what we as South Africans have become used to. Now I know it doesn't actually work this way, but my calculator program is open and I feel like working something out. What would it cost me to have 250GB's worth of cap if I had to order it from a local ISP? I checked on Webafrica and they do have High Cap options available, so from their packages I will need to order 2 x 100GB packages + 1 x 50GB package. The final price for the cap alone: R16,700.00 ($2,115.00) per month Wow, just wow. When you look at numbers like this you really start to realise how ridiculous all of this actually is. These US ADSL packages at these prices are geek fantasies that we could only dream of and it is something that really needs to change.

First Crysis: Warhead review nails a 92% score

By Nick De Bruyne

PC gaming magazine PC Zone has released what looks to be the first review of Crysis: Warhead hitting it with a super solid 92%. This is a little bit of what they have to say: With its budget price and improved multiplayer, there’s more than enough here to cheer nay-sayers. One of the most striking things about Warhead is the way it shakes the template Crysis snowglobe and has its constituent parts drift and settle into surprising new patterns. In Crysis encounters with enemies were heavily cordoned off from each other, in Warhead anything goes. It’s a frenzy of intelligent and original level design, far away from the Far Cry model that Crysis aped.” Sounds like a blast and something to look forward to on PC. I played through Crysis earlier this year and really had a fantastic time, even if my Macbook Pro was huffing and puffing the whole way through but I actually hear that Warhead is going to be more spec friendly than the first one. Crysis Warhead apparently has a South African ETA of Friday 19 September.

Akward Kombat. Shao Kahn is getting his groove on.

I don't really know where to start with this video. A couple of guys have put together a short video showing what would happen if Shao Kahn started feeling a little kinky instead of being his usual old realm conquering self. Technically speaking, it's done incredibly well, to the point that I nearly didn't realise that I wasn't actually watching actual game footage at first. It's quite a laugh and gets quite strange.
