Resident Evil 5 Announced for the Wii… By Mistake?

By Nick De Bruyne

Whoops! In an interview with Kotaku at E3 last week, SEGA of America president Simon Jeffery let some information slip past by mistake about Resident Evil 5 coming to the Wii. Whilst discussing their new Wii game, Mad World, and it's place in the casual world of the Wii, he spoke about how there are more games of this nature heading to Nintendo's console that will help the problem it is having with maintaining interest after the console has been purchased and starts collecting dust. More after the jump. Kotaku then reports: "Talking to Capcom's Chris Kramer outside the publisher's E3 meeting room, he seemed genuinely surprised to hear of such a product. We told him that we already knew about the existence of Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop and he suggested that Mr. Jeffery was simply confusing the two products." Are they just denying it all or was it a genuine mistake? Simon Jeffery later said in an email that "We’d been discussing the Res Evil 5 showing at the Microsoft event earlier, and it was still on my brain – that’s all," he wrote in an e-mail." It would be really great if Resident Evil 5 does come to the Wii soon. RE4 enjoyed a large amount of praise on the Wii, so I think that it is inevitable that we will be seeing it on the Wii at some point or another. However, I think that the developers will be putting all their time into the next-gen versions for now and will only look at all the downscaling and restructuring needed for it to run on the Wii at a later stage.

Playstation Lifestyle is reporting that they are thrilled to let us know that there is going to be a “MAJOR” new PS3 exclusive announced this August. Who didn’t enjoy flying those UAV’s into people and buildings in Frontlines Fuel of War? I think that is one of the most enjoyable mini-games I have ever played and this video above is the first thing I have ever seen that has made me contemplate leaving my fridge of beer and joining the army. Hopefully though they give the …

Bioshock definitely looking better on the PS3

By Nick De Bruyne

Dave Wells, who is a contributor at PSU was given some hands on time with Bioshock for PS3 and has had a few things to say about how it looks. While many gamers have been wondering about whether the game will look as good, the same or better than the Xbox 360 original, we see a completely solid viewpoint after Wells has tried it for himself. Wales reports that: “One of the very first things you’ll notice within BioShock [PS3] is that all anti-aliasing issues are now gone. There were absolutely no edging issues or jaggedness to any portions of what was displayed on screen,” “I almost felt like I was staring at a redesigned title.” I am glad to hear of news like this. Obviously, visuals aren't everything, but just the other day I put in my Bioshock disc to check something and I couldn't help but feel once again that the games visuals felt a bit spoilt by some really annoying jaggies, ultimately making the graphics feel like they lack polish. PS3 owners who haven't had a chance to play Bioshock on the Xbox 360 or PC yet are in for a real treat. While I am not so sure that the game deserved all the praise it received, it is still a damn good game and an experience that shouldn't be missed.

This week must have been a bit difficult for Yahtzee with the entire Escapist magazine website plastered with Age of Conan advertising… However that didn’t stop him ripping into the game and basically telling us all not to waste our time on it. Since I have little to no interest in MMO games I think I will take his advice …

Nintendo Apologises for E3 Performance

By Gavin Mannion

In a strange turn of events, Nintendo’s president has decided to apologise to fans over Nintendo’s lack of performance at E3 this year. To be more accurate he apologised for the lack of information around Zelda or Mario. Which is really just strange in my opinion. Apparently they didn’t announce anything at E3 as they didn’t feel it was the …

Wipeout HD looks like it has been ready for months now but it’s just not making the appearance that we expect. The last we heard was David Reeves telling us that there was a “really, really tricky technical problem” So what is this problem? Other journalists have had some hands on time with the game and according to them the …
