Destiny finally found its groove around the time that the House of Wolves DLC arrived, with the Taken King expansion finally giving it the heavyweight punch it needed to stand tall with the big boys in the industry. Point is, mistakes were made. Mistakes that Bungie learnt a lot from, and that I’m hoping we won’t see in Destiny 2 later this year. Here’s the first proper trailer for the upcoming sequel, so that you can start judging for yourself.

Man, it really sucked to be a formerly deceased human who was resurrected by a sentient floating Dinklebot to fight back against the infinite hordes of the Fallen, Hive and Vex. But around the release of The Taken King, Destiny found its groove. Even better, it found a spark that made the game realise that it didn’t have to be serious all the time. While Destiny original flavour bids farewell to a legion of Guardians today with the Age of Triumph, the next big chapter in Bungie’s grand ol’ space opera kicks off this September. All eyes will most likely be cast towards that sequel in the months to come, but Bungie is keeping mum for the forseeable future/E3. Remember last week when that new poster leaked of a somewhat legit-looking Destiny 2? Well it was legit. Too legit to quit, as Bungie has officially confirmed that Destiny 2 is coming out this September.

Bungie’s second dive into their loot ‘n shooter kicks off later this year, but you’re probably going to have to wait until E3 to see the first taste of it in action. Or maybe you won’t, because somebody who is soon to be fired has managed to leak some promotional materials for the Destiny sequel that looks too legit to quit.

In the first of three livestreams before the final Destiny event begins, Bungie detailed some raid-centric information for players who’ll be picking up their favourite hand cannons for one final ride in the Age of Triumph.

Maybe you’re a warlock who wields the best 400 Light guns that Glimmer can buy or maybe you’re a Hunter who runs around the Tower in the fashionable Days of Iron armour set. It has taken hours upon hours to get to that point within Destiny, months of grafting and Raids that didn’t always fork out the rewards that you were hungry for. Well it’s time to start all over again in Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 will apparently have players facing the Cabal in a far larger capacity, dealing with the massive bullet sponges as they overrun their beloved Tower base of operations as Bungie starts from square one on their first sequel.
