It has a weirdly unique style and substance, every level is an unpredictable white-knuckle ride and it fully commits to its rogue-like influences. The end result isn’t just a showcase title for what the PS5 is capable of, it’s a thrilling mix of arcade bullet hell gaming with precision thrill power.

New Pokemon Snap captures the magic of the original game without ever losing focus, expanding on that game with a vastly increased collection of Pokemon, colourful zones to explore, and a few other interesting developments behind the lens of this delightful romp.

What positives can be found in Yasuke, can’t hide the fact that the entire experience feels like a junk food binge that’s easily done in one. It’s not the kind of series that’ll be revisited in time like a beloved classic, functioning better as a single serving of steel and sorcery. It’s overwhelmingly okay at its very best, but at least its art and soundtrack adds some sharpness to an otherwise dull blade.
