This latest developer diary from Epic doesn't really focus on anything specific but rather talks about a lot of the different aspects that make up the game. They also discuss the fans and the media as well as what they are doing to try improve the game as well as attract new audiences. Just a week and a bit left till the destruction begins and these videos aren't helping to make the wait go quicker.

THQ sues Activision Blizzard Over Baja Box Art

By Nick De Bruyne
October 28, 2008

THQ has filed a suit against Activision Blizzard because of similarities in the box art between the two games, of which THQ's has already been released for some time now. Both games are based around the same real world event, so you would think that a similar cover was like. One look at the comparison image though and you start to realise that it couldn't possibly have been coincidence that the artwork could be so similar, or could it? It seems to me like the cover art is nearly identical in terms of content and placement. THQ's suit says that Activision's "upcoming SCORE International Baja 1000 uses box art with artwork elements that are "virtually identical" to the former's packaging for Baja Edge of Control." Gamasutra reports that THQ have asked the courts to enjoin the game, saying the following: "If Activision is not enjoined from its impending release of the Activision Game bearing the [similar packaging art], THQ will suffer damages in an amount as yet unknown, but in excess of the jurisdictional minimum of this court and to be determined at trial," "THQ also would be entitled to Activision's profits from the sale of the Activision Game..." I fully agree. Activision Blizzard had already been contacted by THQ but then refused to change the artwork. If things go THQ's way, they could be looking to have a large sum of money paid to them in damages as well as as possibly taking certain profits from the sale of Activision Blizzards game.

LittleBigPlanet gets it GameTrailers Review

By Gavin Mannion
October 28, 2008

LBP has been reviewed by Gametrailers and without ruining anything I have to say that it was a good review. Honestly the score for gameplay surprised me a bit but its overall score was pretty much exactly what I was hoping it would be. The fear of LBP failing was proven wrong in resounding fashion and it looks like this …

LittleBigPlanet Servers Are Go!

By Nick De Bruyne

LBP developers Media Molecule have announced that the servers for LittleBigPlanet are officially online. While this does mean that any lucky people who already have a copy can start using them, it also means that everyone can look forward to having instant access to the servers and not have to wait for them to go online or sort out there issues, which I find to be a problem with a lot of titles these days. It's great that with all the talk of these games crowding the internet all year, the time for gaming greatness has finally arrived and will continue for the next month and a bit.

Well it looks like someone has found another one and you really do have to applaud the guys effort, he has cracked open the binaries with a hex editor and has been scouring the pages …

PS3 Sells More Games To A Smaller Market

By Nick De Bruyne
October 28, 2008
in :  Gaming

Yesterday, we reported that Ubisoft was showing greater sales on the PS3 than the Xbox 360. Granted, the information was only for the United States. Today, According to the latest sales reports from Namco Bandai, Konami, Ubisoft and EA, the Playstation 3 is actually selling more titles than the Xbox 360 despite having a smaller install base. More after the jump. While the PS3 has been playing the catch up game to the Xbox 360 for quite some time since its later launch, it looks as if it's time is nigh. With Microsoft pushing the new 360 price drops as well as the releases of Fable 2 and the mighty Gears of War 2, one must wonder whether the PS3 will be able to keep up with LBP, Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 but a significantly higher price still. The truth will only really come out after the Christmas rush is over and to be honest, I have no idea who is going to be out in front when all is said and done. We will keep our eye on the stats and see how Christmas plays out.

With Ubisoft having got passed the release of Far Cry 2 with flying colours their attention is now turning to Prince of Persia and the marketing circus that will surround it. I can honestly say that it is about time for another AAA title that isn’t a shooter and I am fully expecting Prince of Persia or Mirror’s Edge to …
