September is upon us and has not only brought us the first signs of spring, but also the beginning of what is to be 3 months of wallet-burning, credit-card pwning mayhem in the form of a heavy onslaught of gaming awesomenisity (real word, I promise cough).

So then, what does September have to offer. We have all the releases for the PS3, 360 and the Wii and its looking pretty damn good, especially with the release of Rapala Fishing Frenzy, that game is so gonna be a 10.

The PS3 is getting exclusive Mirror’s Edge DLC

By Gavin Mannion

There were rumours a short while back that Mirror’s Edge was going to be a PS3 exclusive. As insane as this idea was it had to be officially denied by EA Games and Sony, however it seems that the source of this rumour was something a little more plausible. Sony has announced that it has an exclusive marketing deal with …

Brett posted yesterday about the upcoming Death Tank, or scorched Earth to us older folk. Well it got me intrigued so I went on a mission to find out more about it and stumbled across this video.   Microsoft has officially come out to clarify the confusion that is currently swirling around the Gears of War 2 debacle… What debacle you may ask? Well I asked the same thing as this is the first I had heard about it. Apparently a bunch of PC gamers got very upset because it was rumoured that Gears of War 2 …

RE5 getting "Gears-like" Controls

By BrettC
September 3, 2008
in :  Gaming

With recent games all following the same type of control system, the resident evil system was always going to feel odd and out of place, not anymore. After Jun Takeuchi’s comments at E3 this was somewhat expected, he implied the change by stating, “So don’t be surprised if at the Tokyo Game Show, the controls are different… I’m not confirming …

Far Cry 2 Developer Video – Immersion

By Nick De Bruyne

Many developers will go out of their way to try and pull gamers into their worlds. From artwork, graphics, sound and animation there are tons of different ways to make the player feel like he is actually running around in the virtual world that is laid out in front of him. This video of Far Cry 2 explains a few of the ways that the developers have tried to do all they can to keep you feeling completely immersed in the experience. I have played a few games over time that specifically kept you in the players head, even when cutscenes or animations are taking place and it really makes a difference. The latest of which is Condemned 2, by keeping the player inside the head of the character almost 100% of the time you really feel a certain physicality in the world, which helps that much more when something scary happens because it makes you really want to run for your sorry life. No need to mention how good this game is looking, it is quite apparent.

Too Human – Where it all began

By Nick De Bruyne

So we are constantly hearing about how Too Human was apparently being developed for nearly ten years but we have never actually had the opportunity to see what the game looked like in its early years. Well, I have hunted down two videos of Too Human running on a Playstation 1, thats right folks, the PS1 for your viewing pleasure. The video above is gameplay footage from the game while the one after the jump is an early FMV sequence that was going to be used. The funny thing is that our current-gen games look to have actually overtaken the CG sequences that were being used originally. It is also quite clear from the video that the core gameplay changed significantly over the time it took the game to be developed. Check out the second video after the jump.
