A really bad MGO video

By Gavin Mannion

I mentioned yesterday that I was suprised by the lack of news coming out of the MGO beta, well someone with a dodgy cellphone has answered my query. Behold, the only gameplay video of Metal Gear Online that I can find. Now I was mistaken about how the beta worked which was bad on my side, so I really have …

There are three ways to enter this weeks comp, each way worth more than the last. PhotoshopWhat you …

Gears of War 2: IGN interview with Mike Capps

By Nick De Bruyne
April 21, 2008
in :  Gaming

An IGN interview with Mike Capps, president of Epic Games this week talks about not only Gears of War 2, but his outlook on the industry as well as a the Gears of War comic! When asked by IGN, Capps goes on to discuss a few regrets that he had with the first Gears of War: "Oh wow. Well you know I think there's… everything we did was a series of compromises, right? Some compromises we wish we didn't have to make and those we did. I think the thing that was most painful to me as someone who cares a lot about the story and the continuity with the novels and the comic books and the movie and everything else. We did the first level at E3 and locked down the dialogue for that first level way before the whole game was done. So there's a whole lot of… you know, the game starts out, I don't know if you remember, but it says, "Hoffman pardoned everybody." And then right after there's a line that's, "Hoffman's gonna be pissed." And it doesn't make any sense at all and that's because it doesn't make any sense. And then trying to match everything around that is tough because, you know, the first bit of our game was a little inconsistent and that's frustrating. It's canon. That's the storyline and now we have to match it to that. But, you know, I'm pretty happy with it otherwise." It's an interesting interview, not only discussing Gears of War, but also what games he is looking forward too, why he thinks the Wii is evil and even a short discussion on Unreal Tournament III. Capcom steals own artwork from IGN for Okami box.

I admit that I often lend images from other websites when publishing articles, it seems to be the norm on the Internet and not really such a bad thing… However what is very common is that sites slap a watermark on any images that they put together or were the first to publish. So that they get free marketing as …

Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe

By Gavin Mannion

So James posted last week about the bizarre poster that featured Sub Zero (from Mortal Kombat fame) and Batman, he then went on to reminisce about how the older games developers can’t be beaten when it comes down to pure carnage. Honestly the fatalities of the old MK series were possibly the best part about them and you couldn’t really …

So I originally posted about the idiocy of needing 3 logins to participate in the Metal Gear Online Beta. Everyone happily flamed me for that saying I was just being a fanboy. The I posted about the Konami servers crashing and once again I was flamed and told that it was just due to so many people downloading the game. …
