Call of Duty: World at War – Cooperative Gameplay

By Nick De Bruyne

Early reports of Call of Duty 5 are saying that while the game still looks great and plays similarly to COD4, it just isn't quite as good. To be honest, I really couldn't care less. The reason is simply because this game also has 4 player cooperative play. It was easily the biggest element missing from COD4. In this day and age of online play, sitting in a massive battle all by yourself just doesn't cut it anymore. From the video it is obvious to see that COD5 is still looking really good and if the co-operative works without any online issues, I can't see any reason to not play through this game a couple of times at least, with a couple of buddies by my side.

Hellgate: London – Shutting Down in January

By Nick De Bruyne
October 27, 2008
in :  Gaming
2

It's no secret that Hellgate: London was a miserable failure. The team behind the title mostly comprised of ex-Diablo developers who banded together to form Flagship Studios. The game enjoyed massive hype and had followers dying to get their hands on the game, especially when the CG trailers were looking so incredibly impressive. Unfortunately, once released, it didn't take long to figure out that the game was nothing but a huge disappointment. The quests were boring, the controls weren't great and the world felt dead, completely destroying the MMO feeling that Flagship had originally set out to create. Well now, little over a year after it's release, the servers are going to finally shut down. January 31st will be the last day that Hellgate sees and until then, there will be no subscription fees for the game. It really is a shame to see that a game with so much potential failed to deliver the goods. This is just a reminder to developers out there that unless you have thought everything through and given 110%, your game may very well have it's plug yanked from the wall.

Who's bringing in the money for Ubisoft?

By Gavin Mannion

Ubisoft are one of the biggest and most succesful gaming megatrons in the industry and as such it is interesting to see where they are making their money as I think it is a key indicator of where the makers of the Tom Clancy series are going to be focussing their future development. So when they released their latest financials …

Woman Murders Online Husband

200810270212.jpg I love stories like this, they really are just so damn strange sometimes. So get this... a 43-year old woman got so upset about her online husband in Maple Story divorcing her without warning that she used his login details and information to go into the game and make his character disappear. You may think that it is quite a joke but after the man reported her actions to the police, she was arrested and is now facing chargers of "suspicion of illegally accessing a computer and manipulating electronic data." She now looks to possibly be facing up to five years in prison or $5000 dollar fine.

Resistance 2 and Gears of War 2 (pre)reviews coming in

By Gavin Mannion

Unfortunately no matter how hard we try we just can’t really make Gears of War and Resistance enemies, they don’t compete directly against each other and they are both great games. However that won’t stop us from trying, I guess there will be someone out there who is rich enough to own a PS3 and a Xbox 360 but can’t …

I have made no secret of my thoughts about Killzone 2 but I am more than happy to admit that everytime I see a new leaked video of this game I am even more impressed. What I like about these video’s is the fact that we know the marketers haven’t been ‘fixing’ them and they give us a real indication …

EA revealed the soundtracks for Skate 2 and its Wii/DS sibling Skate It today, and variety is definitely a highlight. While the Tony Hawk series became known for its punk rock and rap mixes that honestly were not that great, the Skate sequels are looking to challenge its throne on that front by being different. Below is a full track …
