Local Pirates Already Playing Gears of War 2

By Nick De Bruyne

Not too long ago, we reported that Gears of War 2 had been leaked and was already available for download on the internet. A tip has come in today, telling us that a local, with the incredibly elegant gamertag: Balsak66 was already spotted playing Gears of War 2 last night while connected to Xbox Live. A damn shame that some members of our local gaming community are supporting piracy and for all we know there are more although some of them may have actually made some sort of effort to hide their crime. Piracy really is starting to become a serious problem in the console gaming industry and if we support it then we are going to slowly kill off the very thing that we all have in common, games. More after the jump. Come on guys, be a man (or woman) and do the right thing. Wait the wait and fork out the cash for the game that so many of us have been waiting for for such a long time. PC gaming is already suffering with Crytek announcing that they will no longer be creating games exclusively for PC as well as Epic Games announcing that they will not be releasing a port of Gears of War 2. Gaming has just become the new "Hollywood" and already so many people are making such an active effort to destroy it by pirating games.

It’s late October 2008, and that means at least a couple things — another Saw movie and lots of zombies. The World of WarCraft has already been overrun by the living dead, and now Grand Theft Auto 4 looks like it might be next on the list. Last Updated: October 24, 2008

Fable 2 Co-op Has Fans Enraged

By Nick De Bruyne

Lionhead's long awaited sequel to their Xbox Hit Fable, has finally been released and although the game is scoring very highly, there seems to be a lot of fans and gamers in general that are incredibly displeased with the online co-operative play. A huge ruckus has broken out on the Lionhead forums after one of the fans started the following thread: Jaycen2001 writes: Hey guys, thanks for the quick fix for the online multi co op. you know just taking a dump and selling it as a cool feature is kinda lame. the co op sucks hard in this game. you cant be your own character. and you cant freaken see anything because of the crappy (and I mean super crappy) camera. So, thanks for all the waiting for this cool game with this awesome feature. i hate to tell you but it blows......I dont accept your patch. take it back and give us what you promised. not some cheap knock off. Ouchies. This is how the thread starts and trust me it's all downhill from there. What makes matters worse is that one of the site mods posted a pic of handbags and asked if anyone needs one, which just made the fans even more furious. Most of the issues people are having are with regards to the fact that you can only use a henchman in other peoples games as well as issues with people not being able to take found items over to their game. We will have to wait and see how Lionhead respond.

Street Fighter IV Coming to PC later

By Nick De Bruyne

SCIV.jpg Capcom have confirmed to IGN that Street Fighter IV will be releasing this winter (our summer). What it is interesting is that the PC version is only going to be released after the console version. Now, is this only because they will need to port it over to the PC (Don't they have a "export from Xbox 360 to PC" button?), or is it because they are pulling an EndWar maneuver and releasing it later to avoid piracy. We have no confirmation as yet but will follow up when we hear more.

Resistance 2 TV Spot

By Gavin Mannion

So we just saw the Gears of War 2 TV spot and it is time for it’s PS3 nemesis to respond. I think it is quite obvious which game has the bigger marketing budget but I have to say that this one is actually sticking in my mind better than the Gears one. The original Gears had “Mad World” which …

New Gears of War 2 TV Spot

By Nick De Bruyne

A new TV spot for Gears of War 2 aired today in the United States titled "Last Day". Keeping with the feeling of the Mad World trailer that was released for the original Gears of War, the trailer plays out with sombre tunes and muted tones, the beginning really is quite lovely. It's obvious that by now the hype for Gears of War 2 has reached a mad height. Xbox Live friends lists are sitting chock and block with people all playing the original Gears of War again so that they can brush up on their skills or only just because they need to play the closest thing that they can find to the sequel. It's time has nearly come. November 7th draws nearer and all we can do is wait. It's a good thing so many good games are coming out today, they will help ease the pain.

Battlefield: Worse Company, Army of Four, Dead Space 2 Announced

By Nick De Bruyne

DeadSpace2.jpg Ok, so I made those first two names up. The news is however true, EA's Frank Gibeau told Variety that EA is planning sequels to all Battlefield: Bad Company, Army of Two and Dead Space. Whether or not Army of Two's sequel will actually look at implementing more playable characters is still a mystery and on that same note, some 4 player co-op for the next Bad Company wouldn't be bad either. On a side note, Xbox360Fanboy has reported that Dead Space novels and toys are currently being mulled over, so we may see some cool stuff coming soon.

Hollywood Talent Cheaper Than CG Cutscenes

By Gareth

Hiring a boat load of celebrities is cheaper than creating computer generated, StarCraft-esque cutscenes, says EA, but how do they go about choosing the actual stars? “The casting for this game and for our previous game, C&C3, was kind of a collaborative effort between certain members of the development team as well as PR and marketing.” says Ajami — who …
