Should the PS3 be kept alive by Blu-Ray?

By Gavin Mannion
October 15, 2008
in :  Gaming

I stumbled across an article this morning implying that the PS3 was fast on it’s way to coming stone last in this generation and it was mentioned that their saving light would be to position the PS3 as a Blu-Ray player that can play games and not the other way around. They could then heavily market it towards the electronics …

Now this just goes to show you just can’t keep a good rumour down.. Fresh from the Tokyo Game Show is one of my favourite rumours of this year, Metal Gear Solid 4 may still be coming to the Xbox 360. A Konami PR man has been quoted as stating the following about MGS4 “We’re actively looking into a release …

Quantum of Solace: What do you think?

By Nick De Bruyne
October 14, 2008
in :  Gaming

Quantum of Solace is being hailed as the best 007 game to see a console since GoldenEye captured the hearts of so many Nintendo 64 owners. By utilising the Call of Duty 4 engine, they secured a good looking game that will most probably work really well, but is it enough? I quite like the idea of the 3rd and 1st person mixed gameplay but I am not entirely sure that I am fully sold on the game just yet. What do you guys think? Is it going to be a surprise title that shows us that licenses can still work well?

The psychological survival horror game was expected at the end of October to tie in with Halloween. No reason was given for the delay, and the publisher was reluctant to discuss the matter further. Microsoft revealed earlier this week that qualifying Core and Arcade owners can receive either a free Xbox 360 Memory Unit or Xbox 360 Hard Drive. Unfortunately this seems to only apply to Xbox 360 owners in the US and Europe. But fear not. Craig N, our very own Microsft MVP has just posted on his blog that Microsoft Xbox South …

The Castle Crashers patch is finally on its way, I’ve held off playing the game too much because of the bugs and the fact that I can’t play with my friends. But there is hope. According to a recent post on developer The Behemoth’s blog, they’re hard at work putting the finishing touches on the game’s first title update. Last …

Midnight Club: Los Angeles – Skyline R34 VSPEC

By Nick De Bruyne

Ah, the Nissan Skyline R34. Either you love it, or you really love it. This video shows the Skyline doing its thing in the streets of Los Angeles and while we all know that Midnight Club: Los Angeles is using the same marvelous engine that was used for GTA IV, I still can't say that I am truly sold on the visuals in this game. Will the visuals hold up compared to other racing titles out there? Who knows? What I do know is that if the game is really fun to play and a blast with friends, then who the hell cares.
