FINISH HIM! Destiny 2: Shadowkeep will allow you to finish off enemies with custom finishers

By Darryn Bonthuys

You ever take your Guardian for granted in Destiny? There are times when I accidentally stand beneath a Fallen Walker tank drop point or I get a prostate examination with a Hive sword, where I forget just how powerful the defenders of humanity really are within that universe. God-slayers and king-breakers, wielders of the Light and the wall against the …

Comments Off on Destiny 2: Where is Xur (and whats he got for sale?) – July 12

There are still those who are willing to get up at the crack of dusk and boot up their console to find him for you. People who’ll risk digital life and limb to let you know if Xur is selling a treasure or rubbish. I just so happen to be one of those people. Maybe you’re stuck at work and can only log in later tonight. In that case: Where is Xur?

Stranger Things 3 The Game Review: Should I Play or Should I Go?

I think we all remember that catastrophic “Video Game Tie-In” era. You know, when developers and publishers figured out that they’d be able to make a load of cash by taking an already existing franchise or property and warping it into a video game. As was most often the case, most of these games were very much the opposite of …

Ubisoft’s not happy that people used the Story Creator Mode to farm XP

By Geoffrey Tim

Last month, Ubisoft released the Story Creator mode for its already sprawling RPG Epic, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. The mode allows creators to make and share their own stories. And they have! People have created quests with their own dialogue and own rewards. Those rewards include XP – so of course people have been using the mode to effectively cheat the system, making simple quests that dole out XP like a health clinic dishes out condoms.

Friday Debate – Are retro games overrated?

By Darryn Bonthuys

You might be shaking your fist right now, moaning that back in your day, there was no DLC. There were no season passes, games that needed hourly patches and services being delivered piecemeal to you on a weekly basis while you paid monthly for the privilege to play those games. No sir, you’d pop a cart into a machine, switch your console on, switch it off, take the cart back out, blow the dust off of it and then you’d play a game. Simple as that. No long-ass loading screens, just simple plug in and play gameplay. That’s how games of that age were the best. Bollocks.

Mortal Kombat will be R-rated and feature gruesome fatalities when it hits the big screen in 2021

By Darryn Bonthuys

Fans hunger to see faces ripped off, opponents beaten bloody with their own limbs and an entire slaughterhouse of finishers that make the Hostel series look like an episode of the Care Bears in comparison. That’s the true identity of Mortal Kombat, and it’s something that the upcoming film knows all too well as the latest cinematic adaptation is looking to rip the big screen a new one and find an R-rating within.

Remember the legal spat between Duke Nukem maker 3D Realms and classic Metal maker Iron Maiden? The latter claimed that anybody who saw 3D Realms’ upcoming Ion Maiden - a 3D shooter in the vein of Duke Nukem – that they’d be led to believe that the band was involved.
