Nvidia has announced a new set of tools and branded laptops aimed at creators.

Following their unveiling of their latest range of high-end laptops, Asus has revealed plans for two new portable monitors. One aimed at functionality, the other purely at gaming.

Nvidia’s real-time ray tracing is the future of video game graphics, and the chip company has an array of expensive graphics cards available to show it off. What they don’t really have, at the moment anyway, is much in the way of software to take advantage of the newfangled lighting and reflection technology. If I’m travelling, I’ll play stuff on the Switch (or not at all), while laptops are used solely for content creation; writing, editing video, that sort of thing. If I were in the position to buy a new laptop, that’s entirely where my focus would lie. Give me a machine that’s light, portable, and tooled to make stuff, and I’d be happy. Asus’ newly announced ZenBook Pro Duo is the sort of machine that would make me very happy.
